Managing conflict and difficult situations in your team
Managers and supervisors are responsible for identifying and dealing with internal staff conflicts.
Internally with staff there are numerous occasions in which conflict within team or between people can arise. This training is for managers and supervisors who have to be able to diagnose conflict situations and resolve them. This course is about early detection, raising awareness and the communications skills for dealing with conflict.
The overall aims of the course
This course will help managers with techniques and skills needed to both prevent and resolve conflicts in the workplace. These include gaining an understanding of potential sources of conflict and using interpersonal communication techniques to stop conflicts before they start. Participants will also gain understanding of the role active bystanders and how all staff should be empowered to intervene.
Workshop content
We will cover the approaches you can take as managers to preventing and tackling conflict in your teams.
- The risk factors that enhance the prevalence of conflict (diverse workforce, high-pressure work, great power differential),
- Effective and the ineffective conflict resolution techniques,
- Active Bystander interventions leaders most frequently need to engage in (direct action, being the recipient of delegation),
- Aspects of non-violent communications that support conflict prevention and management as a leader.

Webinars and online coaching: We run webinars for groups and online follow up coaching for individuals.
Online learning: We provide learners with online reading materials, tasks and cheat sheets.
